the entire capsule is 14 mm and the diameter
of the capsule is 5 mm. Find its surface area.​

Curved surface area of the cylinder :

Diameter of a cylinder = 5mm

Radius of the cylinder = diameter/2 =5/2mm

hence, diameter of the hemisphere =5mm

So, radius of the hemisphere = diameter/2 =5/2mm

Now,

Height of the cylinder +2× Radius of the hemisphere =14mm

Height of cylinder = 14-2 ×Radius of hemisphere

=14-2×5/2 =9mm

Curved surface area of the cylinder =2πrh

=2×22/7×5/2×9

=990/7mm²
