6. A mixture contains 75% coal, 15% charcol and the rest is sand. Calculate the percentage of sand in the mixture. ​

Given:-

Percentage of coal in mixture :- 75%

Percentage of charcoal in the mixture :- 15%

And the rest is sand

To Find:-

Percentage of sand

Solution:-

Let us assume the percentage of sand as 'x'

Now ATQ we have:-

75% + 15% + x% = 100

90% + x% = 100

x = 100 - 90

x = 10% Answer

Hence the percentage of sand in the mixture is 10%
