Let the number be x

37.5% = 37.5/100 = 375/1000 = 75/200= 3/8

x + x × 3/8 = 33

x + 3x/8 = 33

(8x + 3x)/8 = 33

11x/8 = 33

11 x = 33 × 8

x = 264/11

x = 24

Thus the number is 24
