Answer:

Cost of Tiling 164.74 m² = ₹ 2,223.99

= ₹ 2,224 (approximately)

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that,

The room has a dimension, 10.2 × 8.5 × 4.6

(This is not multiplication, just for reference we write it like that, and each '×' is read as 'by'.)

Door has a dimension of 1.5 × 2.6

also,

window has a dimension of 2 × 1.7

Now, we must find the area of the wall on order to paint,

Thus,

Area of Wall = Total S.A of the 4 sides - Area of Door - Area of window

We know that,

Total Surface area of the 4 sides = 2h(l + b)

where l = 10.2 m, b = 8.5 m, h = 4.6 m

So,

Total S.A = 2 × 4.6(10.2 + 8.5)

= 9.2(18.7)

= 9.2 × 18.7

= 172.04 m²

Area of Door = 1.5 × 2.6

= 3.9 m²

Area of window = 2 × 1.7

= 3.4 m²

Thus,

Area of wall = 172.04 - 3.9 - 3.4

= 164.74 m²

Now, The cost of tiling 1 m² = ₹ 13.50

∴ Cost of Tiling 164.74 m² = ₹ (164.74 × 13.50)

= ₹ 2,223.99

= ₹ 2,224 (approximately)

Hope it helped and you understood it........All the best
