Given:

The alloy of brass contains copper and zinc in the ratio 13:7.

To find:

In 1.5 kg of the brass vessel, the weight of zinc will be =?

Solution:

From the given ratio of zinc and copper in the brass alloy let,

"13x" → represents the weight of the copper

"7x" → represents the weight of the zinc

The given weight of the brass vessel = 1.5 kg

Now, as per the question, we get

13x + 7x = 1.5

\implies 20x = 1.5

\implies x = \frac{1.5 }{20}

\implies x = 0.075\:kg

7x = 7 \times 0.075 = 0.525\:kg

\boxed{\bold{1 \:kg = 1000 \:gms}}

∴ 0.525 kg = \frac{0.525}{1000} = 525 \:gm

Thus, the weight of zinc will be → 525 gm.
