Answer:

a6 = 19

a7 = 41

common difference (d)= a7 - a6 = (41 - 19) = 22

a6 = a + 5d

19 = a + 110

a = 19 - 110

a = -91

a40 = a + 39d

= -91 + (39 × 22)

= -91 + 858

a40 = 767.

Hope this helps you☺

\huge\underline\bold\orange{ANSWER :}

Given that,

6 & 7 term of an Ap is 19 & 41 find 40 term

Let,

  • a6 = 19
  • a7 = 41

We can write,

  • a6 a + 5d = 19....... (1)

  • a7 a + 6d = 41....... (2)

Subtract the equations (1) & (2), we get

- d = - 22

d = 22

\boxed{∴ d = 22 }

Now, substitute d in the equation (1), to get a

a + 5(22) = 19

a + 110 = 19

a = 19 - 110

a = - 91

\boxed{∴ a = - 91 }

Now, to find the value of a40,

  • a40 = a + 39d

Substitute the values of a & d

-91 + 39(22)

- 91 + 858

767

\boxed{∴ a40 = -767 }
