Siblings sometimes get jealous or envious if their brother or sister get more attention. In this poem the poet's mother was extremely affectionate towards him. In the poem the poet writes about when he was ten years old, he was sleeping in his mother's lap. By seeing that, his older brothers and sisters were jealous.

➠ Swami did not deliver his letter to the headmaster in the morning because he was a bit lucky that headmaster was absent that day. So, he brought the letter back and tore it.
