1. While muhammad tughluq was shifting his capital, many people died along the way as they were travelling in summer.
2. Many of his policies had went vain and the state suffered huge losses due to this such as introduction of new currency.
3. He himself became infected by bubonic plague while they were shifting the capital. Rumours of his death spread. This was when he decided to return to delhi.
