6 Apple 5 mango cost 60 , 8 Apple 9 mango cost 80, find cost of 1 Apple and 1 mango

Hi ,

Let cost of 1 apple = Rs x

cost of 1 mango = Rs y

According to the problem given ,

6x + 5y = 60 ---( 1 )

8x + 9y = 80 -----( 2 )


multiply equation ( 2 ) with 6 and

multiply equation ( 1 ) with 8 , we get

48x + 54y = 480 ---( 3 )

48x + 40y = 480 ---( 4 )

subtract ( 4 ) from ( 3 ) , we get

14y = 0

y = 0

Substitute y = 0 in equation ( 1 ) , we get

6x + 5 × 0 = 60


6x = 60

x = 60/6

x = 10

Therefore ,

cost of 1 Apple = Rs x = Rs 10

cost of 1 Mango = Rs y = 0
