we know that remainder is 0 when factor is divided polynomial.

we can check whether 5x + 1 is a factor of 5x³ + 26x² + 35x + 6 by putting value of x. if remainder comes 0, then it's a factor otherwise not.

equating 5x + 1 with 0

➡ 5x + 1 = 0

➡ 5x = -1

➡ x = -1/5

p(-1/5) = 5(-1/5)³ + 26(-1/5)² + 35(-1/5) + 6

= 5(-1/125) + 26(1/25) - 7 + 6

= -1/25 + 26/25 - 1

= 25/25 - 1

= 1 - 1

= 0

remainder is 0

hence, 5x + 1 is a factor of 5x³ + 26x² + 35x + 6
