Differences between parasite and saprotroph are as follows : -

SAPROTROPH

  • The organism that obtain nutrients from the dead or decaying organic matter is called saprotroph.

  • They take the digested and decayed food.

  • They feed on dead and decaying organism.

Examples :- Somd fungi and Bacteria.

  • The organism that grow on the body of another organism and derive nutrients from it is known as a parasite.

  • They take the readymade food from the host.

  • They directly feed on living organisms for their nutrition.

Examples :- Cuscuta and Orchids.
