Electors / Voters having one among the 21 disabilities as mentioned by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 are termed as voters with disabilities. In addition,if a person who has reduced mobility and/ormotor functionand/or physical coordination due to age, temporary ailment, pregnancy and other disease, and needs to be facilitated to get registered and to vote are termed as electors / voters with reduced mobility and physical functions. Every Indian citizen with disability or reduced mobility / functions who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date i.e. first day of January of the year of revision of electoral roll, unless otherwise disqualified of crime or unsound mind as declared by a competent court,is eligible to be registered as a voter in theroll of the part/polling area of theconstituency of which he/she is a resident.An eligible person with disability or reduced mobility / physical functions can get enrolled in electoral roll by filling Form 6 inclusive of information about one’s disability online at www.nvsp.in and uploading the necessary documents.
One can also enrol at voter enrolment centres or the offices of Electoral Registration Officers / Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, which will be accessible for persons with disabilities and reduced mobility / physical functions, by fillingForm 6 in two copies which are available free of cost atsuchcentres / offices and annexingcopiesof the relevant documents. In case of anyassistance / facilitation of communication required in filling the form, the same would be provided at both offices. The forms can also be sent by post to Electoral Registration Officer / Assistant Electoral Registration Officer.

चुनाव आयोग ने पांच राज्यों के विधानसभा चुनावों की तारीखों का आज ऐलान कर दिया। आयोग ने छत्तीसगढ़ में दो चरणों में चुनाव कराने की घोषणा की है। इसके अलावा मध्य प्रदेश, मिजोरम, राजस्थान और तेलंगाना में एक चरण में ही चुनाव कराए जाएंगे। छत्तीसगढ़ में पहले चरण में 18 सीटों पर 12 नवंबर को वोटिंग होगी। इसके बाद दूसरे चरण में 72 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में 20 नवंबर को चुनाव होंगे। चुनाव आयोग ने मध्य प्रदेश और मिजोरम में एक ही चरण में 28 नवंबर को वोटिंग कराने का ऐलान किया है। राजस्थाना और तेलंगाना में सात दिसंबर को वोटिंग होगी। मतगणना 11 दिसंबर को होगी और उसी दिन परिणाम आ जाएंगे। चुनावों की घोषणा के साथ ही सभी 5 राज्यों में आदर्श आचार संहिता लागू हो गई है।
