N: Hello Aarav. How was the Maths exam?

A: Oh, it was so easy.

N: You can't say that. The geometry part was rather difficult.

A: No, it wasn’t. You must be joking!

N: I am not joking at all. I thought the questions were rather simple. Which ones did you find difficult?

A: The entire geometry section.

N: Aarav, there were so many questions in that section. Are you telling me that you found all of them hard?

A: Well, to be honest, not all of them, but some of them were very difficult.

N: That is more like it. Let us discuss the questions you found challenging.

A: Let me look at the question paper again.

N: Sure. Take your time.

A: I spent so much time on question 3, part 2 and I am more than sure that I got all parts of question 5 wrong.

N:  Question 3 was not hard, but a little tricky. It was interesting to solve.

A: It might be interesting to you, but it gave me a panic attack! Who needs interesting questions in the exam? I would rather have straightforward questions.

N: Well, if the questions were straightforward, they wouldn’t be called Maths ‘problems’.

A: Jokes apart, how did you solve the 5th question?

N: It was  fairly simple. All you needed to do was use the circumference of the first circle to find its radius. Then using the area of the second circle, find the radius of the second circle. And then using both these values in the given equation, find the radius of the third circle. And finally, find the sum of the areas of all the three circles. That’s all.

A: That’s all? There were so many steps!

N: True, but they were simple. And you know how to solve each part.

A: Yes, I do, but during the exam I got so puzzled that I simply couldn’t figure out what to do.

N: Next time stay calm and then attempt the paper.

A: I think you are right. I panicked for no reason and lost precious marks. I will work on it.

Answer:

Namit : Hello Aarav. How was the Maths exam?

Aarav : Oh, it was so easy.

Namit : You can't say that. The geometry part was rather difficult. I think so.

Aarav : I don't think it was very difficult. I have answered all the questions. By the way what about you.

Namit : I have touched 80 marks approximately. I was not prepared well. Don't know what will be next. I am worried about it.

Aarav : Don't worry. Focus on your next exam so that you can cover 20 marks .

Namit : Right you are , I should and I have to be. Thanks for your kind suggestion.

Aarav : Don't mention it. I know you are a good student. Somehow you were not prepared but here it is not end. Your weakness can make you failure. Think positive and also do positive. Forget about what you have done and move forward. I know something good is waiting for you.

Namit : I hope your word comes true. I think you are prepared well.

Aarav : Yes, but I am weak in Geography. But I will manage it. If you and I feel any help then I can help you and you can help me. What do you say ?

Namit : I think it's a good idea. Obviously I will do.
