Given:-

  • AC = hypotenuse = 25cm
  • BC = AD = breadth = 7cm
  • It's a rectangle, so ∠ABC = 90°

Solution :-

By using Pythagoras theorem,

(Hypotenuse)² = (Perpendicular)² + (Base)²

⇒ (25cm)² = (7cm)² + (base)²

⇒ 625cm² = 49cm² + base²

⇒ base² = 576cm²

⇒ base = √576cm²

⇒ base = 24cm

Here, base is equal to the length of rectangle.

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

⇒ Perimeter = 2( 24 + 7)cm

⇒ Perimeter = 2(31)cm

⇒ Perimeter = 62cm

Therefore, perimeter of rectangle is 62cm.

Question :-

  • Find the Perimeter of the Given Rectangle.

 \\ \\

Given :-

  • Hypotenuse (AC) = 25cm
  • Perpendicular (CB) = 7cm

 \\ \\

Concept :-

  • Firstly we will find the Base or Length of the Rectangle by applying Pythagoras Theorem in triangle ABC . From their we will get the Length , then we will apply the Formula of Perimeter of Rectangle.

 \\ \\

Solution :-

 \\

Using Pythagoras Theorem

⇛ (Hypotenuse)² = (Perpendicular)² + (Base)²

⇛ (25)² = (7)² + (Base)²

⇛ 625 = 49 + (Base)²

⇛ 625 - 49 = (Base)²

⇛ 576 = (Base)²

⇛ √576 = Base

⇛ 24 = Base

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

So, the length of the Rectangle is 24cm

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

 \\

Using Perimeter of Rectangle

⇛ Perimeter = 2( Length + Breadth )

⇛ Perimeter = 2( 24 + 7 )

⇛ Perimeter = 2 × 31

⇛ Perimeter = 62cm

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

∴ So, Perimeter of Rectangle is 62cm.
