6. Find the rate of simple interest if
• (i) the interest on 4000 for 3 years is 600.
(ii) the interest on 1000 for 5 years amounts to 300. ​

Given,

Principle = 4000

Time = 3 years

Interest = 600

Simple Interest = 600

Rate = R (let assume as R)

600 = \frac{P \times R \times T}{100}

600 = \frac{4000 \times R \times 3}{100}

600 = 40 \times 3 \times R

\frac{600}{120} = R

5 = R

hence Rate is 5%
