We have to find the slope and intercept constants respectively of plot of degree of disassociation (y - axis) and D/d , where D is vapor density of N₂O₄ and d is the vapor density of mixture.

Solution : here N₂O₄ ⇔2NO₂

at t = 0, 1 0

at eql 1 - α 2α

so, total = 1 - α + 2α = 1 + α

vapor density is inversely proportional to no of moles so D_i/D_f = final concentration/initial concentration

= (1 + α)/1

but D_i = vapor density of N₂O₄ and D_f = vapor density of Mixture

So, D/d = (1 + α)

⇒(D/d) = (1)α + 1 , on comparing with y = mx + c

We get, slope of graph is 1 and y - intercept is 1.
