Step-by-step explanation:

hey mate

here

LHS = -(x+y)

= -(1/5+3/7)= -(7+15/35)

= -(22/35)

= -22/35

RHS = (-x) + (-y)

= (- 1/5) + (-3/7)

= -1/5+ - 3/7

= -7+ -15/35

= -22/35

As LHS= RHS

solution:-

if x = 1/5 and y = 3/7

now,

=> - (x + y) = (- x) + (- y)

=> - ( (1/5 ) + (3/7) ) = (-1/5) + (-3/7)

=> - 1/5 + - 3/7 = - 1/5 + -3/7

=> (-1 × 7)/5×7 + (5×(-3))/5×7

= (-1 × 7)/5×7 + (5×(-3))/5×7

=> (-7/35) + (-15/35)= (-7/35 )+(-15/35)

=> (- 7 + (-15))/35 = (- 7 + (-15))/35

=> -22/35 = -22/35

hence, LHS = RHS

I hope it helps you......
