(1). We know that moon is a non luminous object, therefore it doesn't emit its own light energy. But still we are able to see the moon during the night. This is because the moon reflects the light of the sun (sun is a luminous object) falling on its surface towards the earth.

(2) Moon is non-luminous body because it shines by reflecting the sunlight falling on it.
