Explanation:

Plant cell---- (I) Comparatively larger in size.

(ii) Cell membrane is present.

(iii) A non-living, rigid cell wall is present.

(iv) Plastids are present. The chloroplasts contain chlorophyll which are responsible for the green colour of plants.

(v) A large, central sap vacuole is present.

(vi) Many simple units of Golgi bodies called dictyosomes are present.

(vii) Lysosomes are absent.

(viii) Centrosome is absent.

Animal cell----(I) Usually smaller in size.

(ii) Enclosed by a living cell membrane.

(iii) Cell wall is absent.

(iv) Plastids are absent. In some microscopic organisms like euglena and green algae, chlorophyll is present.

(v) Vacuoles are absent. If present, they are very small in size and more in number.

(vi) A single, highly complex but prominent Golgi apparatus is present.

(vii) Lysosomes are present and take part in destroying the harmful bacteria present in the cell.

(viii) Centrosome is present and initiates cell division.
