by applying sign convention we get the following,

object distance (u) = -- 12 cm

focal length (f) = --24 cm

let image distance =(v)

we have mirror formula,

1/f= 1/u+1/v

1/-24= 1/-12 + 1/v

we get v=+24 cm

here '+' sign indicates it's a real image

now magnification (m) = --(v)/(u)

m= -- 24/ --12

m= +2 ---------(1)

we also have another formula for magnification i.e.,m= height of image / height of object

m= h(i)/h(o)-----------(2)

from equation (1),(2)we get,

2=h(i)/4

h(i) = 8 cm

height of image = 8 cm
