6) p+q=k (eq1)

P-q= n

On adding

2p= n+k

P= n+k/2

From eq 1

q=k-p

q= k-(n+k/2)

q= k-n/2 and it will be positive as k>n

7) same as 6

Therefore

b= x-y/2

Now

Y>x therefore b>0

Hence b will be positive

Hope this helps!!!!

Answer:

if p+q=k

p-q=n

and k>n then q is positive

a+b=x

a-b=y

and x<y then b is negative
