Given :

  • If the sum of two integers is -10 and one of them is 18,

To find :

  • the additive inverse of the other integer.

Solution :

Let the other integer be x.

Then,

18 + x = -10

x = - 10 - (18)

x = - 10 - 18

x = - 28

The additive inverse of other integer i.e.,

= - 28

= -28

= - (-28)

= 28

Answer:

 \:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : -

  • If the sum of two integers is -10 .

  • one of them is 18,

To Find : -

  • find the additive inverse of the other integer.

Solution : -

let the other number be x

x + (18) = - 10

x + 18 = - 10

x = - 10 - 18

x = - 28

Verification : -

- 28 + 18 = - 10

- 10 = - 10

Verified !!

The additive inverse of other integer i.e.,

= - (-28)

= 28

Hence the additive inverse of the other integer is 28

More information : -

Additive Inverse

  • A number that when added to a given number gives zero. How to use additive inverse in a sentence.

  • Additive inverse is when we add some numbers in it we get 0

Eg additive inverse of 10 is -10
