Or, it can be solved by this method :-

Volume of one cube :-

$side {}^{3} \\ = > 2 \times 2 \times 2 \\ = > 8cm {}^{2}$

∴ Volume of three cubes ( no matter the arrangement ) :-

$8 \times 3 \\ = > 24cm {}^{2}$
