If the earth doesn't rotate but only revolve then one pary of the earth would always be in the dark side and face night for 24 hours on the other hand the other part of the earth would be in the bright side and have day for 24 hours. The first side of the earth would always have winter season as sunlight would not reach there and other side would always be like summer with scorching heat.
