Hey Dear,

◆ Answer -

(d) 2.25 lakhs

● Explaination -

Winning candidate gets 51 % votes, means defeated candidate have got 100-51 = 49 % votes.

If x are total polled votes, winning candidate won by 2% votes.

x × 2/100 = 9100

x = 9100 × 50

x = 455000 votes

Votes recieved by defeated candidate will be -

Defeated candidate = x × 49/100

Defeated candidate = 455000 × 49/100

Defeated candidate = 222950 votes

Thus, option (D) 2.25 lakhs seems to be best answer.

Thanks dear...
