(1) perimeter of rect 1 = 2(l+b)

= 2(4+6)cm

= 2(10)cm

= 20 cm

perimeter of rect 2 = 2(l+b)

= 2(12+4)cm

= 2(16)cm

= 32 cm

perimeter of this figure = (pm of rect 1 + rect 2)

= (20+32)cm

= 52 cm

(2) area of rect 1 = l×b

= 4×6cm

= 24 cm

area of rect 2 = l×b

= 12×4cm

= 48 cm

area of the figure = (area of rect 1 + rect 2)

= ( 24 + 48 ) cm

= 72cm
