6. In triangle ABC, the length of AB is 6cm and the length of AC is 5cm. The length of AP is 4cm. The
line PQ is parallel to BC. Find the lengths of AQ and QC.

In ∆ABC

AB=AP +PB

6cm=4 +PB

PB= 2cm

As PQ is parallel to BC

PB=QC

therefore PB=2cm=QC

AC = AQ+QC

5cm=AQ +2cm

Therefore AQ =3cm

hence AQ = 3cm and QC=2cm.
