Everything in this world has its advantages and disadvantages. Consequently a man is not
justified in condemning the dark side of things and events. The same is true of adversity A
state of prosperity is no doubt hailed by everybody, for then, he is surrounded by all sorts of
comforts and luxuries, friends and acquaintances. This state places him under a delusion and
leads him to regard his numerous hangers on as his true friends and to depend on them for
everything in life. But when at the very sight of the frowns and frenles of misfortune he is lett
all alone, by his so called true friends, he begins to leam to exert himself and to stand on
his own legs. Thus, by and by his inner and latent powers and revealed to him and energies
called forth, with the result that his condition is bettered and success in life ensured. In this
way, adversity, whose other name is frightening is beneficial to human
progress.
