a)Under the system of advances the weavers had to weave cloth which was already promised to European agents. Weavers no longer had the liberty of selling their own cloth or weaving their own patterns. Instead, they had to reproduce the designs supplied to them by the company agents.
b)Mansabdars received salaries as revenue assignments called jagirs. And unlike muqtis, all mansabdars did not reside in their own jagirs but used servants to collect revenues there while they themselves served in another part of the empire.
