6$12ohm resistors are in parallel so resistance = 4ohm
total resistance = 4+6=10ohm
current flowing = 10/10=1A
see potential difference will be 10V if 6ohm resistor is placed after the parallel combination
if 6ohm resistor is placed before than parallel combination then potential difference will decrease by ir= 1*6=6
potential difference across 12ohm resistor = 10-6=4
therefore it depends on placement.
answer could be 10$4both
hope u understand
