6 ohm and 12 ohm resistors are connected in parallel. This combination is connected in senes with a 10V battery and 6 ohm resistor. What is the potential difference between the terminals of 12 ohm resistor?

6$12ohm resistors are in parallel so resistance = 4ohm

total resistance = 4+6=10ohm

current flowing = 10/10=1A

see potential difference will be 10V if 6ohm resistor is placed after the parallel combination

if 6ohm resistor is placed before than parallel combination then potential difference will decrease by ir= 1*6=6

potential difference across 12ohm resistor = 10-6=4

therefore it depends on placement.
