Answer:

[ 6.]

Let x = the smaller number

Let x + 7 = the larger number

(x + 7)2 = x2 + 77

x2 + 14x + 49 = x2 + 77

14x = 28

x = 2

x + 7 = 9

[ 7.]

let first no. = x

and, second no. = (x +2)

(x+2)2 -x2 =36

(x+2+x)(x+2-x)=36

(2x+2)(2)=36

2x+2=18

2x=16

x=8
