6. Out of 1900 km, Vishal travelled some distance
by bus and some by aeroplane. Bus travels
by
with average speed 60 km/h and the average
speed of aeroplane is 700 km/h. It takes
5 hours to complete the journey.

Answer:
let the distance travelled by bus be x and by aeroplane be y.
then time traveled by bus = x/60= T1
and by aeroplane = Y/700 = T2
NOW
T1+T2= 5
x/60+y/700= 5
35x+3y= 10,500
and we know that x+y =1900
now substituting y= 1900-x in first equation.
now we get
35x+3(1900-x) = 10,500
35x+5700-3x = 10,500
32x = 4800
x= 150km
and y = 1900- x
therefore y = 1750km
hence Vishal travelled 1750km by aeroplane and 150 km by bus.
