Answer:

3x + 11= cost of 6 pairs of socks

5x+6 = the cost for 9 pairs of socks

3x +11/5x+6 = 6/9

9(3x+11) = 6(5x+6)

27x + 99 = 30x + 36

30x - 27x = 99-36

3x = 63

therefore x= 21

thus the cost of one pair of socks is 21rs.

if 6 pairs is then 1=3x+11/6

if 9 pairs is then 1= 5x+6/9

3x+11/6=5x+6/9

3x+11/2=5x+6/3

9x+33=10x+12

x=33-12

x=21
