1. Self-pollination- Transfer of pollen grains from stigma to the anther of the same flower. No agency is required. Occurs only in bisexual flowers.

2. Cross- pollination -Transfer of pollen grains from stigma to the anther of flowers on the same plant or on different plants of the same kind. A agencies like wind,air etc. are required. Occurs in unisexual flower, under monocious/dioecious flower.

Fertilization: Pollen grain reaches on the stigma of pistil by pollination. On the stigma the pollen grain germinates and pollen tube come out. This pollen tube grows and approaches through the style to ovary carring male gametes with it,where it enters the ovule. Inside the ovule, there is female gamete or egg. The male gametes fuse with the female gametes, this process is called fertilisation.
