Give reason :-Distribution of population is uneven in India.

Ans: (i) Climate and physiography of India affects it's population distribution. In India, the population is sparsely distributed in mountaineous hilly regions, regions of heavy rainfall, desert areas,etc.

(ii) For e.g. In India, population is sparsely distributed in snow covered regions in Himalayan range, That desert and rain shadow regions in state of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh.

(iii) In India, population is densely distributed in regions having moderate rainfall and mild temperatures.

(iv) For e.g. In India, population is densely distributed in states of Kerala and Tamilnadu and the Eastern Chats respectively having moderate rainfall. Similarly, dense population is found in the Ganga plains in the states in the states of Bihar and West Bengal.
