Given: Rahul travelled some distance from A to B and then to C.

To find:  Estimate the distance between A to C, to the nearest thousands.

Solution:

  • Now we have given that rahul travelled 1,973 km to go from place A to B and then he went to place after travelling 1.687.
  • So the distance between A to B is: 1,973 km
  • the distance between B to C is: 1,687 km
  • So the total distance will be:

               AB + BC = AC

               AC = 1,973 km + 1,687 km

               AC = 3,660 km

  • So rounding off to thousands, we get:

               3,660 km = 4000 km

Answer:

             So the total distance covered after rounding off will be 4000 km.

Answer:

Given:

  • Rahul travelled 1973 km to go from place A to B and then he went to place C after travelling 1,687 km.

Find:

  • Estimate the distance between A to C to the nearest thousands.

Calculations:

⇢ A to B = 1973 km

⇢ 1973 km ⇢ Nearest 2000 km

⇢ B to C = 1687 km

⇢ 1687 km ⇢ Nearest 2000 km

Adding both the nearest values, we get:

⇢ 2000 + 2000

⇢ 4000

Therefore, 4000 is the required answer.
