6. State Ohm's law.
Draw the circuit diagram to establish the relationship between current l' flowing in a conductor
and potential difference 'V' maintained across its two ends. Draw the shape of a curve obtained
when a graph is plotted between I and V.
A piece of wire of resistance 6 ohm is connected to a battery of 12 V. Find the amount of
current flowing through it. Now the same wire is redrawn by stretching it to double its length.
Find the new resistance of wire.

Ohm's law, description of the relationship between current, voltage, and resistance. The amount of steady current through a large number of materials is directly proportional to the potential difference, or voltage, across the materials.

The formula states that the current passing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential

difference across its ends, provided the physical conditions like temperature, density, etc. remain

unchanged. This is Ohm's law.

I ~ V or I = V/R

V = (+)(-) R

R is called resistance of the conductor .

As V = 1.05 V

I = 0.15 A

V = IR

1.05 = 0.15 × R

R = 1.05 / 0.15 = 7Ω

as, I = V/R

:. I = 12/6

I = 2A.

if the length of the wire is doubled by stretching it than its area will get halved.

this will increase the new resistance 4 times the eariler one.

hope it help u.
