Answer:

7,8,9

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us take the first number as x

Now as the numbers are consecutive so we will take the three numbers as:- x, x+1, x+2

And their sum is 24.so

x+ x+1+ x+2 = 24

3x + 3 = 24

3x = 24-3

3x = 21

x = 21/3

x = 7

x+1 = 8

x+2 = 9

So the numbers are 7,8,9 whose sum is 24.(Ans)

Note:-

I took x, x+1, x+2 the numbers

bacause I took the 1st number as x , so the next numbers must be x+1, x+2 i.e if the no. x is 3 then the next number is 4...x+1 ....3+1 = 4.

I hope you understand.

  • The first consecutive integer = 7.
  • The second consecutive integer = 8.
  • The third consecutive integer = 9.

Given :–

  • Sum of three consecutive integers = 24.

To Find :–

  • All the three consecutive integers.

Solution :–

Let,

The first consecutive integer be x.

The second consecutive integer be x + 1.

The third consecutive integer be x + 2.

According to the question,

Sum of all the three consecutive integer is 24.

I.e.,

First + Second + Third = 24

Now,

 \implies x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 24

  \implies x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 24

  \implies x + x + x + 1 + 2 = 24

 \implies 3x + 3 = 24

  \implies 3x = 24 - 3

  \implies3x = 21

  \implies x =  \cancel \dfrac{21}{3}

 \implies x = 7

So,

First integer = x = 7.

Second integer = x + 1 = 7 + 1 = 8.

Third integer = x + 2 = 7 + 2 = 9.

Hence,

The three consecutive integers are 7, 8 and 9.

Verification :–

Sum of all three consecutive integers is 24.

First + Second + Third = 24

We have,

  • First integer = 7.
  • Second integer = 8.
  • Third integer = 9.

Now,

  \implies 7 + 8 + 9 = 24

 \implies15 + 9 = 24

 \implies 24 = 24

Hence Verified !!
