Step-by-step explanation:

let son age be x

father's age 2x^2

A.T.Q eight yrs hence

sons age = x+8

father age = 3(x+8) +4

therefore 2x^2+8=3x+24+4

2x^2 -3x -20

2x^2 -8x+5x-20

2x(x-4)+5(x-4)

2x+5=0\ x-4=0

x=-5/2 , x=4

so sons age is 4yrs ,father's age is 32 yrs.
