Given :-

  • The ages of Hari and Harry are in the ratio 5:7. Four years from now the ratio of their ages will be 3:4.

To find :-

  • Present ages of Hari and Harry

Solution :-

Let the present age of Hari be 5x and Harry's present age be 7x

According to the question

  • Four years from now
  • Hari's age = 5x + 4
  • Harry's age = 7x + 4

Hari's and Harry's ages after four years will be in ratio i.e 3/4

→ 5x + 4/7x + 4 = 3/4

→ 4(5x + 4) = 3(7x + 4)

→ 20x + 16 = 21x + 12

→ 16 - 12 = 21x - 20x

→ 4 = x

→ x = 4

Hence,

  • Present age of Hari = 5x = 20 years

  • Present age of Harry = 7x =28 years

Given :-

  • The ages of Hari and Harry are in the ratio 5 : 7.

  • Four years from now the ratio of their ages will be 3 : 4.

To Find :-

  • Present Ages Of Hari and Harry.

Solution :-

Let the Age Of,

  • Hari = 5x.

  • Harry = 7x.

After Four Years,

  • Hari's Age = 5x + 4.

  • Harry's Age = 7x + 4.

Now, According To Question,

(5x + 4)/(7x + 4) = 3/4.

➨ 3(7x + 4) = 4(5x + 4)

➨ 21x + 12 = 20x + 16.

➨ 21x - 20x = 16 - 12.

➨ x = 4.

Therefore,

  • \large\sf\blue{Present\:Age\: Of \:Hari\: =20 \:Years.}

  • \large\sf\blue{Present \:Age \:Of \:Harry\: = 28 \:Years.}
