Given :  a point whose distance from X-axis is 4 units and distance from Y-axis is 3 units

To Find : coordinates of   point

Solution:

Let say coordinate of point are ( x , y)

distance from X-axis is 4 units

at x axis y = 0

Hence √(x - x)² + (y - 0)² = 4

=> √y² =  4

=> y = ±  4

distance from Y-axis is 3 units

at y axis x = 0

Hence √(x - 0)² + (y - y)² = 3

=> √x² =  3

=> x = ±  3

Hence possible coordinates of point whose distance from X-axis is 4 units and distance from Y-axis is 3 units are

( 3 , 4) , ( 3 , - 4)  , ( - 3 , 4) , ( - 3 , - 4)
