The area of the tin sheet required for making

40 such tins is 350400 cm².

The cost of tin sheet required for making 40 tins is Rs.8760.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The dimensions of an oil tin are 60 cm x 35 cm x 24  cm.

To Find : The area of the tin sheet required for making  40 such tins. If 1 sq. m of tin sheet costs Rs. 25 and find the cost of tin sheet required for making 40 tins ?

Solution :

The surface are of the cuboid is  SA=2(lb+bh+hl)

Here, l=60, b=35 and h=24

Substitute,

SA=2(lb+bh+hl)

SA=2(60\times 35+35\times 24+24\times 60)

SA=2(2100+840+1440)

SA=2(4380)

SA=8760\ cm^2

For 1 tin the area required is 8760 cm².

For 40 tin the area required is 8760\times 40=350400\ cm^2

Convert into m²,

1 cm² = 0.0001 m²

350400\ cm^2=350400\times 0.001=350.4\ m^2

If 1 sq. m of tin sheet costs Rs. 25.

The cost of tin sheet required for making 40 tins is

Cost=350.4\times 25

Cost=Rs.8760

Therefore, the cost of tin sheet required for making 40 tins is Rs.8760.
