Answer:

12 : 41 : 13

Step-by-step explanation:

The incomes of X, Y and Z are in the ratio

3:5:4, while their expenditures are in the ratio

2:1:3. If X saves 40% of his income, find the

ratio of their savings.

Let say X , Y & Z  incomes are

3A , 5A  & 4 A respectively

& Their expenses are

2E : E  : 3E  Respectively

X saving = 3A - 2E  = (40/100) * 3A

=> 3A  - 2E = 1.2A

=> 1.8A = 2E

=> E = 0.9A

Saving of X  = 3A - 2E  = 3A - 1.8A  = 1.2A

Saving of Y = 5A - E  = 5A - 0.9A = 4.1A

Saving of Z = 4A - 3E = 4A - 2.7A  = 1.3A

Ratio of their savings

1.2A : 4.1A : 1.3A

=> 12 : 41 : 13
