Step-by-step explanation:

length of the room = 15 feet

breadth of the room = 12 feet

it is rectangular in shape.

right?

so, area of a rectangle= l×b

15× 12 = 180

tiles = 1 feet ×1/2 feet

= 1/2 feet

= one box contains = 40 tiles

so,40×1/2

=20

as you have said answer is 9

so,

9 boxes contains 40 ×9=360 tiles

=360×1/2

=180

and area of room is also 180.

answer is 9 boxes
