Solution :

Let, the length and breadth of campsite be x m and y m respectively

As we know that :

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

According to the question :

2(x + y) = 64 => x + y = 32 ..... (1)

And xy = 207 => y = 207/x

On putting the value of y in equation (1) :

x + 207/x = 32

$= > {x}^{2} + 207 = 32x \\ \\ = > {x}^{2} - 32x + 207 = 0 \\ \\ = > {x}^{2} - 23x - 9x + 207 = 0 \\ \\ = > x(x - 23) - 9(x - 23) = 0 \\ \\ = > (x - 23)(x - 9) = 0$

Required value of x :

23 and 9

When x = 23 then y = 207/23 = 9

when x = 9 then y = 207/9 = 23

So, length and breadth of campsite will be 23m and 9m .
