Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of chair = R. x

Therefore, cost of table = 20+x Rs.

According to the question,

2(20+x)+3x=340

5x+40=340

5x=300

x=60

Therefore, cost of table = 20+x=80 Rs.

Let the price of a chair = x

Therefore, price of a table = x + 20

Given that price of 2 tables and 3 chairs = Rs. 340

2(x + 20) + 3x = 340

2x × 40 + 3x = 340

5x + 40 = 340

5x = 340 - 40

5x = 300

x = 300/5

x = 60

x + 20 = x + 60 = 80

The price of a chair = Rs. 60

and price of a table = Rs. 80
