Let the cost of chair be 'x' and that of table be 'y'. Given that the rate of table is 4 times than that of chair.

Hence y = 4x

Now According to the question, Cost of a table and 4 chairs is 3200. Interpreting it as an equation we get,

⇒ y + ( 4x ) = Rs. 3200

⇒ 4x + 4x = Rs. 3200

⇒ 8x = Rs. 3200

⇒ x = Rs. 3200 / 8 = 400

Hence the cost of the chair is Rs. 400. Hence the cost of the table would be : 4x = 4 × 400 = Rs. 1600.
