6. To find the sum of two numbers 5 and 9, we can have
two ways. We can add these numbers as 5 +9 = 14 or
9+5 = 14. We get the same sum in each way. Thus,
5+9 = 9+5. This can be done for any two numbers.
This property is known as commutative property of
addition of numbers. Express this property in general
way, by using variables a and b.

iammoorti: I don't know why but I am unable to answer over there. So answering here only please check....
iammoorti: a+b=b+a

a + b = b + a

  • Using Commutative Property, we get a + b = b + a for variables a and b
  • The commutative property states that the numbers on which we operate can be moved or swapped from their position without making any difference to the answer.
