Let the numbers be 2x and 3x.

When 8 is added to numerator and denominator, ratio is 3x and 4x.

Thus,

2x+8/3x+8 = 3x/4x

4x(2x+8) = 3x(3x+8)

8x^2+32x = 9x^2+24x

x^2 = 8x

x = 8

Therefore, the numbers are 2x and 3x, i.e. 16 and 24
