let 2 numbers be 'x' and 'y'

given x/y=3/5

x=(3y/5)------------------(1)

if each number is increased by 5..

(x+5)/(y+5)=(2/3)

3x+15=2y+10

3x-2y=-5---------------(2)

put eq(1) in (2)

3(3y/5)-2y=-5

9y-10y=-25

-y=-25

hence y=25..from eq(1),

x=3y/5

=(3×25)/5

=3×5

=15

hence x=15,y=25
